At Concord College International School (CCIS), we believe that learning is about more than just getting the right answer, it’s about trying your best, working as a team, and being kind along the way. Our Year 4 students demonstrated this perfectly at the AIMS Maths Competition.

Last Saturday, eight of our young mathematicians, namely – Kai, Logan, David, Minjun, Amarah, Matthias, Terry, and Sarah accompanied by Mr. Ballber Sanghera, Head of Mathematics and Mr. William Pendered, Year 4 Class teacher, travelled to a school in Kuala Lumpur, ready to take on some tricky challenges.

From the very first round, they stayed focused, cheered each other on, and gave every problem their best shot. Most importantly, they had fun together and made memories that will last far longer than any trophy.
And what a result!

As a team, they brought home not one, but two trophies, winning oth Gold and Bronze in one of the competition rounds. Individually, they did us proud too with one Gold medal, two Silver medals and four Bronze medals.

“At CCIS, we are focused on our students learning outcomes but we also know that children grow best when they feel supported, valued, and happy. That’s why we offer a balanced school life with great teaching, fun activities, sports, and lots of care for every child. We want our students to aim high, work hard, and always look out for one another,” said Mrs Rosanna Kirkbride, Founding Head of Primary.

This year, CCIS was inspected and received great feedback from Concord College International, which shows we’re on the right track in giving our students a strong education here in Malaysia.
